On January 31, 2010 the home renovation tax credit program ended.  it was introduced in 2009 by the federal Finance Minister as part of the governments economic stimulus plan  Ottawa estimates that 4.6 million households will claim the credit on their 2009 taxes for credits on such renovations as kitchens, bathrooms basement s, painting, blinds and windows, even doors. and lanscaping.  

The Canadian RealEstate Association is lobbying the government to extend the tax credit.  If you are in favor you can lobby as well

Released from the RealEstate Board of Greater Vancouver the most recent Preliminary Report  on the mls  Housing Price Index for South Delta - BenchMark Price was $664,527 for an average home  Tsawwassen and Ladner ..  This Price was up 17.1% from the previous December 2008. 

Total home sales in December 2009 for Ladner and Tsawwassen were 27 detached and 11 attached properties.  compared to the previous December 2008 where Tsawwassen Ladner Home Sales combined were 12 detached and 9 attached.

Condominiums are being rented for from40percent to 50percent more than regular rental apartments, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp from a recent report.  Condominium rentals normally provide more amenties and features than purpose-built rentals.  The rental apartment  vacancy rate in urban BC increased to 2.8percent October 2009 compared to 1percent in October 2008.  The higher vancancy rate is a combination of factors, including investor owned condo's being added to the rental market.  A good reason to look at the option of purchasing a condo in Tsawwassen or Ladner especially with lower interest rates being available.  in Delta the vacancy rate  is up 3.8percent as compared to vancouver which is 2.1percent and Richmond 2.7percent.

Tsawwassen Heights Hydro homes sold in Tsawwassen

Open House - Sells House !!  August 23 was a great Sunday for Open House.  I had over a dozen sets of people through an Open House in Tsawwassen, which consequently resulted in an offer to purchase.
